Sometimes inventory data needs to be overlayed with business logic that can significantly alter the compliance position for an application. Common examples of this are the use of Active/Passive clustering and cold Disaster Recovery sites to minimise the cost of licensing applications like Microsoft SQL Server.

Unfortunately, the business logic in setting this up isn't discoverable via any inventory source, and therefore needs to be configured in SAM for Snow Atlas (Snow) to report licensing compliance more accurately. This is where the Extended Coverage feature comes in.

Data^#3's Snow and SAM Specialists can work with you to understand this business logic specific to your environment and can quickly configure Snow to reflect the correct Extended Coverage rules.
